Restaurante El Cortijo de Ramiro, in Guadalmina, is a benchmark for quality gastronomy on the Costa del Sol in general and in Marbella in particular.

Throughout its long history, the establishment has earned the accolade of being one of the trendiest places in the area, with quality service, extraordinary products handled with care, wisdom, and knowledge, all in a luxurious setting. The restaurant specializes in Mediterranean, Spanish, and international cuisine and is the ideal setting for hosting any type of celebration or event, whether family gatherings, business meetings, or professional or expert encounters.

Ramiro Gago has been at the helm for over 28 years, although he has honed his skills in dozens of establishments throughout his extensive career. Originally from Asturias, he came to Marbella drawn by good cuisine and its gastronomic reputation. "Some came to sunbathe, but I came to work, and for that, I was clear that I had to train," he recalls. He trained at the local hospitality school "where I was fortunate to be able to combine studies with practical training since I could work while putting into practice what was learned in the classrooms and at the same time getting used to the day-to-day," he remembers.

And upon leaving school, this renowned chef began his long journey through the best establishments in Marbella, from golf courses to restaurants. "In '89, gastronomy began to be introduced in golf courses, and I became responsible for the service at the Guadalmina club. We started with very few members, and now it has several thousand. Catering in this aspect is fundamental; it's an additional attraction of this type of facility," Gago explains, who combined management with many other projects, "this profession is entirely vocational because it requires absolute dedication, it requires most of your time, and if you're not willing to give it, you won't be able to achieve success in the sector." This drive led Gago to launch Restaurante El Cortijo de Ramiro, to which he is now dedicated.

One of Ramiro Gago's most ambitious projects has been the launch of Ramiro Cátering, a company that has served the most well-known and prestigious residents of Marbella. "Without a doubt, it's the work that has required the most dedication from me," he comments. "If a client opens their home to you and entrusts you with organizing an event or an important party for them, you can't let them down, and to not fail, you have to be present, and that requires a lot of dedication," he explains, pleased to have been able to share this hard work with his wife, with whom he has always formed a great team.

El Cortijo de Ramiro is a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming establishment with large windows overlooking a garden and a pool, an incomparable setting for any type of celebration or pleasant dinner.

The kitchen of the establishment, managed by María José, Ramiro's wife, is based on top-quality, locally sourced products prepared with care, dedication, and knowledge, and minimally processed to avoid excessively altering the characteristic taste of the select meats and fish that arrive at El Cortijo de Ramiro.

The dining room with Ramiro, Sara his daughter, and a family and professional team of waiters, adding live music, strive to make your visit a gastronomic experience as well as a special one.
